As part of Sanremo's global branding strategy, the Sanremo Canada trade name has transitioned back to Sanremo Italy. This has given us the opportunity to return to our original company name—Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment Inc.—a name that better reflects who we are today and the wide range of products, brands, and services we proudly offer.
For nearly three decades, our mission has remained unchanged: helping cafés, roasters, restaurants, hotels, and coffee professionals build better coffee businesses through exceptional equipment, technical expertise, honest advice, and long-term support.
Today, that mission continues stronger than ever.
A Personal Note from Eugenio
When I started repairing espresso machines over 30 years ago, I never imagined the journey would lead here.
What began as a fascination with traditional Italian espresso quickly became a lifelong passion—not only for the equipment, but for the people behind every café. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working alongside incredible baristas, café owners, roasters, manufacturers, technicians, and coffee professionals who all share the same goal: making great coffee.
Over the years, I have learned that selling an espresso machine is only a small part of the relationship. The real value comes from being there when customers need advice, technical support, training, or simply someone who understands the challenges of running a coffee business.
Representing Sanremo in Canada has been one of the greatest honours of my career. Together we helped build one of the strongest specialty coffee communities in the country and supported countless cafés on their journey.
Today, as the Sanremo Canada trade name returns to Sanremo Italy, I feel proud—not because one chapter has ended, but because another one is beginning.
Returning to the Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment name allows us to represent a wider range of exceptional manufacturers while continuing to provide the same service, technical expertise, and personal relationships that have always defined our company.
The name may be changing, but our values never will.

1995 — A Passion for Coffee Begins
Eugenio's journey into the coffee industry began in 1995 in Como Italy, learning the craft of traditional Italian espresso while following the authentic Espresso Italiano standards. That passion for quality coffee and technical excellence became the foundation of everything that followed.
2007 — Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment Is Founded
Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment was founded with one goal: helping coffee businesses succeed through expert technical service, premium espresso equipment, and honest advice.
2012 — Incorporated in Canada
The company officially became Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment Inc., marking an important milestone and reinforcing our long-term commitment to the Canadian specialty coffee industry.

2014 — Toronto Office Opens & Sanremo Canada Is Established
Our Toronto office opened, and Sanremo Canada became our official trade name, beginning an exciting chapter representing one of Italy's most respected espresso machine manufacturers.
2014 — A Commitment to Specialty Coffee Education
The same year, we made a full commitment to specialty coffee education through the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

2016–2022 — National Sponsor of the Canadian Barista Championship
For seven consecutive years, Sanremo Canada proudly served as the National Sponsor of the Canadian Barista Championship.
Working alongside Canada's best baristas while showcasing the iconic Sanremo Café Racer remains one of the proudest chapters in our history and helped strengthen our relationship with the specialty coffee community across the country.

2022 — Supporting Sanremo USA
Eugenio joined Sanremo USA as Technical Director and consultant, helping develop technical service centres across the United States.
His role included training technicians, developing service standards, and teaching partners how to maximize the performance of Sanremo espresso machines through proper installation, calibration, maintenance, and advanced technical knowledge.

2025 — A Renewed Focus on Traditional Espresso
As our company continued to grow, we chose to focus exclusively on what we know best: professional traditional espresso equipment for commercial cafés and serious home enthusiasts.
Today our expertise includes equipment sales, technical service, parts, preventive maintenance, water treatment, installation, and professional training.
2026 — Returning to Our Roots
As Sanremo unified its worldwide branding strategy, the Sanremo Canada trade name transitioned back to Sanremo Italy.
This allowed us to proudly return to our original identity as Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment Inc.
Today we continue supporting Sanremo equipment while also representing a growing portfolio of premium manufacturers, allowing us to recommend the best solution for every customer rather than being defined by a single brand.
